MyBAB Weekend Picks ~ November 11-13

It’s been a long week, and we’re looking forward to the Sunny and 50° weather that’s showing up for the weekend. We’ve put together some ideas for you to enjoy or relax with this weekend.

BUBBLES EVENT OF THE WEEK: Raising Strong Daughters: An Interactive Tea Party

Alicia Marcos Birong, author of “Changing the Chatter: Help Your Daughter Look Beyond the Mirror for Self-Esteem,” will be at the Raue Center to discuss the importance of raising a daughter with strong self-esteem. Come have tea, lemonade and cookies, and exciting giveaways. $25 per pair, $5 each additional child, $15 per additional adult. {The recommended minimum age for this event is 8 years old.}

BUBBLY EVENT OF THE WEEK: Holiday Open House

Downtown Crystal Lake wants to get you ready for the holiday season. Shop for yourself or get a jump start on your list. Several shops are offering discounts, giveaways and refreshments. {perks vary per shop}

TO EAT: National Pizza with the Works Except Anchovies Day

Saturday is a fun National Day, so we’ll be grabbing pizza, without anchovies from Galati’s in Cary.

TO WATCH: Arrival

The new sci-fi movie is getting rave reviews and is worth a date night if you can get a sitter for the littles. The film stars Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Forest Whitaker, Michael Stuhlbarg and Tzi Ma.

TO DO: Veterans Day

Thank a Veteran for their service today. These places are offering free or discounted items as a way to say thank you.
