The Love for Reading Day (February 14), sponsored by the Warner School of Education and themed Share Your Love for Reading With a Child, is a new annual event designed to celebrate a love of reading and to ignite and nurture reading at home and in the community through a new social media campaign. This February 14th, readers near and far are encouraged to document, share, and tag photos of themselves reading aloud to children on social media, using the hasthtag #read4luv.

Research shows that reading aloud daily to children improves their long-term reading success and sets them up for a lifelong love of books and reading.

To help show the value of reading with children this Valentine’s Day, please share pictures of reading with your Valentine on social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) and tag your photos with the hashtag #read4luv. If you don’t have a young one in the house and want to share your love of reading, please post photos of reading to your favorite critter or teddy bear. Celebrate Valentine’s Day at #read4luv.

Friday Favorites

We’re back with another link up with Erika, Andrea and Narci to share our Friday Favorites.

Jen’s Favorites

Amazon Prime. Can I get an Amen for all the working Momma’s who just can’t function without two day free shipping? School says they need to bring in a costume on Friday, don’t worry Prime has your back!! Not to mention all the extra videos and movies that we have on the Amazon Fire. Like, what the heck did I even do before this? I might actually have an addiction. Don’t tell my husband.

Soft Lips Chapstick. I am a Chapstick snob. This is my absolute favorite and bonus it is small so I can fit it in my pocket or clutch and it isn’t bulky. Bonus, you can order it on Amazon, ha

Wen’s Favorites

Stranded Dry Shampoo. Let’s face it–washing your hair is a complete pain in the you know what. Then it’s a big production to blow dry and style it (which I avoid often). While dry shampoo isn’t new, it’s become popular in the past few years and I think we have fellow moms to thank for that! I’ve tried a few brands and right now I’m loving The Stranded brand. It is a hair powder that matches your hair color (blondes, brunettes and redheads!) and is free of dyes, sulfates, parabens and gluten. A portion of every Stranded purchase is given to the Lauren Scruggs Kennedy Foundation.

Pajama Day at school. Today is pajama day in my daughters Jr. Kindergarten class. She was so excited about it she picked her pj’s out three days ago. Anything that makes our mornings easier and getting out of the house without a fight is a win for us!

MyBAB meme of the week. We’re looking at the positives here and counting down to white wines and spring weather!

Let us know some of your favorite things, we love to try new products. Enjoy your weekend!
