Winter Break Activities

School will be out soon for Winter Break and if you’re like us, you’re going to need to find some activities to burn off some of their energy and avoid cabin fever.


Open Gym | December 26-January 5 | 10:15-11:30 a.m. & 1-2:15 p.m. | Cost: $7 per child {Closed December 30-31}

Come practice your gymnastics skills or jump in the foam pits.


When there is a day off from school, we have a fun day planned! Your child will be safe, supervised, and enjoying a busy day of play on these Winter Break Kid’s Day Off Activities. Day off programs are held at the Community Center from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm. Field trips require a minimum number of registrations.


Movie Field Trip| Wednesday, December 27| 8 am to 5 pm| Registration required

Enjoy a movie, popcorn, soda and fruit snack in a comfy recliner! We will go to Carpentersville Theatre for a newly released movie. Bring a sack lunch/drink and outdoor gear because we will play outside upon returning to Woodscreek. Crafts and games round out the day.


KidZone’s Winter Camps are back for December! Kids
ages 4-12 can enjoy a half- or full-day of camp, including
themed activities such as swimming, movement
challenges, crafts, science experiments and more.
Bring a sack lunch or lunch money for Subway on site.

Thursday, December 21-Tuesday, January 2 • Huntley

Full Day | 8am-4:30pm
Member: $60 | Community: $75 Camp pricing is per day.

Half Day | 9am-2:30pm
Member: $40 | Community: $55 Camp pricing is per day.

Kids Bowling | Weekday mornings | 10 am to Noon | Cost: $3 per hour + $3 shoe rental

Kids bowl for $3 per hour with a $3 shoe rental and parents bowl free! Please limit four kids per adult. For kids 12 and under.


Open Jump | December 26-30 | 10 a.m.-2 p.m.


Ice Skating | Weekdays | 11 a.m.-10 p.m. | Cost: $12 with skate rental, $8 without skate rental, $8 for children under 3

School Days Out | December 22, 26-29 & January 2-5, 2018| 6:30 a.m-6 p.m. | Cost: $45 per day per child member/$60 per day per child non-member

Your child will enjoy arts & crafts, field trips, swimming, games, sports, and more! Your child must bring: lunch, swimsuit, towel, water bottle, snack and athletic shoes. This program is offered for children in K-6th grades. Please remember that all participants must have an emergency information packet on file at the Y to participate in this program. December 26-31 | Various times beginning at 9 a.m. 

While enjoying the week between Christmas and New Year’s, The Abbey Resort will have plenty to keep everyone busy; Super Hero Week takes over the resort from December 26 – 31! Super Hero Week will feature a MARVELous Scavenger Hunt, The Hulk Slime Making, Super Hero T-Shirt making, an Aquaman’s Splash & Glow pool party and more.


December 15-January 7 | 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. 

Take a day trip to the Grand Geneva and get your game on in the Grand Game Zone Enjoy air hockey, ping pong tables as well as 18 arcade games for you to experience. Plus, activities with our Experience Team.
