CRYSTAL LAKE INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE, 1 p.m. July 3, stepping off at City Hall, 100 W. Woodstock St., Crystal Lake. The parade will proceed down Dole Avenue and end at the Lakeside Festival grounds. Fireworks at dusk over the lake at Main Beach. Information: 815-459-1300 or www.crystallake.org.
INDEPENDENCE DAY FIREWORKS, dusk July 3, Main Beach, 300 Lake Shore Drive, Crystal Lake. Hosted by the Crystal Lake Park District. There also will be a 7 p.m. concert featuring the Crystal Lake Community Band and Voices in Harmony. Fireworks rain date is July 10. CELEBRATE FOX LAKE/JULY 4TH CELEBRATION, 2 p.m. July 2, parade steps off from Grant High School, 285 E. Grand Ave., Fox Lake. Following the parade, festivities begin at 3 p.m. at Lakefront Park, 71 Nippersink Blvd., with family activities, games, craft and vendor show, food, beer tent and more. FIREWORKS, 6 p.m. July 9, Picnic Grove Park, Birch Lane, Fox River Grove. Also featuring live music, food and drink. No entry after 9 p.m. No pets. No parking in or near the park. 4TH OF JULY PARADE & PICNIC, 10 a.m. July 4. Parade route runs from Burnette Road at Kemper Valve and ending at Veterans Park, 3720 Greenleaf Ave., Island Lake. Free family picnic will follow the parade from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with hot dogs, soda, water, popcorn, games and prizes, crafts, disc jockey, pony rides (for a small fee) and more. SPRING GROVE 4TH OF JULY, noon July 4, parade begins at the area of Winn Road and Highview Street proceeding north on Winn Road, east on Main Street, north on Blivin Street and into Horse Fair Park. 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION, 10 a.m. July 3, flag ceremony at the Triangle, Wonder Lake. The parade starts at 1:30 p.m. from Christ the King Church, then to the Wonder Center Beach Triangle. Kids Zone and games start at 1 p.m. by the Chamber of Commerce. Open house at 2:30 p.m. at the Fire Station. The Wonder Lake Water Ski Show Team will perform at 4 p.m. at Center Beach.
